75 and Sunny

Let me preface this post by saying that it was actually written back in November and I never published it because it wasn’t finished, but I will continue my thoughts in another post now that Barack has been sworn in….NATHAN…

Ok, so by now everybody knows that Barack Obama is going to be the next president.  It is a bittersweet moment for me.  First of all, I did not think that I would see a black president until I was a very old lady, so I am extremely glad that our country is finally at a place where it can look beyond  a person’s skin color, sort of, and elect a mostly black dude president.  I say mostly because he is, after all, half white which doesn’t mean a whole lot except that he is more of a caramel color than a dark chocolate, because we all know that if one is but 1/16 black then…OK I digress.

Warning:I have a feeling that this post is going to go all over the place, so if you can hang with it AND understand where I am coming from-kudos to you!

Anyhoo, I am a pretty socially conservative gal.  I don’t believe in abortion, I believe that marriage is a religious institution and has always been and should always be between a man and woman, oh and I believe that Jesus is God.  But that’s neither here nor there.

Anyway, as I was saying, since I am a pretty conservative gal, one would imagine that I would have a problem with a guy who has been called the most liberal senator EVER.  The problem with that is that Obama is a man who, like Oprah, has redefined Christianity to suit his taste and who I wonder will be able to accomplish anything meaningful.
